Creating a safe environment

Dr. Lucky’s mediation services seek to create an environment in which parties feel safe and comfortable. She is sensitive to decisions like seating arrangements.  She also cultivates the environment on a deeper level by explicitly expressing her commitment to keeping what’s discussed in the mediation confidential and maintaining neutrality. Dr. Lucky also encourages diplomacy by inviting the parties to speak up if they have concerns that were not fulfilled by her commitment to being neutral.

By creating client-centered environment focusing on empowering them to express their emotions in a more constructive way. By encouraging them to speak freely and confidentially in front of a neutral party, parties can let their guard down and express emotions more freely. This not only helps parties better understand their own emotions and needs, but it also helps them to better understand one another’s interests. Thus the goal of mediation is to create a balanced collaboration between the parties for all to get their needs met and to become invested in best life familial connections.

We learned to co-parent!

“We came for marriage counseling but realized we could not repair the bottom line breaches that had infested our marriage. Dr. Lucky helped us “play nice in the sandbox” (her memorable words when our divorce became a series of petty arguments). With her help, we were able to meet half way and we learned to co-parent together!

Separated & equally divided.

“Be still and know is what she said while we were reaching for a middle ground for our divorce. We had to as she says, “take down the petty fence!” Although, this was easier than we thought we succeeded in doing what was in the best interest of our child.”
